Situated on the foot of the majestic Koʻolau Mountain in Oahu, the ʻāina (land)-centered residency provides an affordable & intimate space for collaboration, reflection and action. The residency house features 2 comfortable ground-floor bedrooms, a large living room, a well-stocked kitchen and two 150-square ft outdoor spaces with a vegetable & herbs garden. 2 parking stalls provided.
Community service and volunteer hours are an integral part of the residency. Booking priorities will be given to Kanaka Maoli artists and educators, BIPOC-led nonprofit & community organizations with a track record of advocating for land-based learning and restoration, social justice, or inter-racial healing work.
Ideal accommodation: 4 people
Rental rate is sliding scale / pay-what-you-can. When you have the resource to contribute more, you are also supporting individuals and organizations with limited resources to benefit from the residence. Suggested contribution: $50 pp/night
